Google plans to ship the first working version of Project Ara until the end of the year. Meanwhile, the company follows "chiseling" the initiative. Some news were confirmed on Wednesday (14) during an event for developers. Among them is the launch of a pilot program elance in Puerto Rico.
As you may know, the Ara Project is the proposed modular Google smartphone. elance The idea is that you can customize the device using "blocks". Each has a specific function: camera, USB port, battery, among others.
The company wants users to have access to a relevant set of hardware when the Ara Project is finally elance released, so announced version 0.2 of Module Developers Kit (MDK), which includes a protocol called Greybus to facilitate communication between modules and the apparatus itself, and a new form of connection of the components elance to give more space for these.
These changes resulted in a new prototype that Google calls Spiral 2. The first images of the model were released in October 2014. 5 megapixel camera, Nvidia Tegra processor K1 and light sensors and proximity are among the reference modules elance for this version. elance
The third phase of the project, represented by Spiral 3, is expected to begin in the third quarter and will include a prototype with even more advanced elance design and of course, the preparation of new components elance - one of them can be a high-density battery module.
The test program in Puerto Rico should start a little later, in the last quarter of the year. Google hopes to make available to users willing to try the Project Ara 20-30 different components.
There is still no information on prices, elance but as if to ensure that the country even receive the pilot phase, the company revealed elance have already signed partnerships with two local operators: Claro and Open Mobile.
Why Puerto Rico? According to Google, the engagement in the region with mobility - there, 77% of users access the Internet primarily via mobile phones - and for its proximity to the United States.

It's that business. It will not be an iPhone of life (up cuz the design're still ugly), but is where being a sustainable option. Everything will depend on the prices of components (pq grace is able to keep changing the parts several times throughout the year, depending on the activity).
